The eagle has the longest life-span of its species. It can reach up to 70 years. But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard and painful decision.
鷹是世界上壽命最長的鳥類，它的壽命可長達70年。但是，爲了活到這麼大的歲數，鷹不得不做出痛苦而又艱難的抉擇。
When an eagle reached near 40, its beak, talon and feathers become weak. Its short, sharp beak becomes bent. Its long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey. Its old and heavy wings with their thick feathers become stuck to its chest and make it difficult to fly. Then, the eagle is left with only two options: die or go through a painful process of change which lasts five months.
當鷹將近四十歲時，它的喙、利爪和羽毛都開始老化。它原本短小尖利的喙變得彎曲;而原本細長靈活的雙爪不再有力，無法捕捉獵物;羽毛由於太過濃密使得老化厚重的翅膀貼在胸前，讓它難以自如飛行。於是，鷹只有兩個選擇：要麼死去，要麼經歷一場痛苦的、長達五個月的蛻變過程。
When the eagle feels weak and about to die, it retires to a place far away on the top of a mountain and sits on a nest. For new life, the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks its beak out. After plucking it out, the eagle waits for a new beak to grow back and then it plucks out its talons. When its new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its old feathers. And after five months, the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years.
當鷹感到自己變得羸弱不堪、瀕臨死亡的時候，它便隱退於遙遠的山頂，棲於巢中。爲了重生，它用自己的喙撞擊岩石，直至完全脫落，然後靜待新喙長出。接着，它開始拔下自己的利爪。等新的利爪長出後，它便開始拔掉自己老化的羽毛。五個月之後，重生的鷹就可以再度翱翔藍天，同時也獲得了另外三十多年的壽命。
Some change is needed to survive in difficulty. In miserable condition, we have to change our life style. That process may be very painful. But sometimes we have to throw off our old habits, memories and traditions. We can't go ahead with all our past burdens.
想要在困境中生存，就必須做出某些改變。在惡劣的條件下，我們不得不改變我們的生活方式。改變的過程也許會很痛苦，但是，有時我們必須捨棄已有的習慣、記憶以及傳統慣例。揹負着過去的所有重擔，我們將無法前行。
