地道表達:cut-and-dried
解詞釋義:這是一條形容詞性的習語。關於習語的出處有兩種解釋。一種是認爲此語用來指17世紀英國草藥店裏出售的成藥,這是藥是割下後曬乾的,因爲遠不如剛採摘的或地裏長着的那些草藥那麼新鮮;另一種解釋爲,此語鋸好晾乾且已經刨好成型的備用木材。現在該習語被沿用下來,引申爲“枯燥乏味的,刻板迂腐的”。也是我中文中說的“老生常談的”“陳詞濫調的”。
