Ok, a popular movie I have watched is called Raise the Red Lanterns. Basically, it's a tragedy, and I first saw the movie in 1989, about two years after it was released. I saw it on video, and I watched it with a group of my friends.

I first saw this movie because a friend of mine said it was very artistic and even kind of eerie. Since I like those kinds of films, I decided to see it. I remember how fascinated I was with the film.

Well, basically it was about a young bride who becomes a concubine and finds out that there are a lot of inner politics going on among the concubines, and she gets caught up in it and even accidentally causes the death of one of the wives. She tries to fight against it all, and as she does, things just seem to get worse and worse. She finds out that there is one concubine in particular who is behind most of her problems.

The story deals with the whole theme of repression and its effect on people. Mainly it's about how repression can drive some people to cruelty and madness.

I think the impact this story had on me was it taught me that there are situations that are so bad for people that the best thing to do is either get out or be swallowed up by it. After seeing this movie, I decided to quit my job and do what I really wanted because I realized that my job would only drive me crazy if I continued with it.

我們先從電影入手，一般描寫電影的套路，就是先介紹這是哪種類型的電影，還可以說說很多方面和細節，例如導演是誰(directed by)，什麼時候上映的(released in)，是否是由小說或者真人真事改編的(adapted from)，由誰主演的(star)等等。

無論是喜歡的電影還是不喜歡的，我們都可以用同樣的開頭：

I’d like to talk about a Chinese horror movie called Another World. It’s the first 3-dimensional movie/thriller I’ve ever seen in my life. I went to the movie theater with my friends when I was in the 9th grade.

首先，關於電影的出產國，如果題目讓大家寫一部foreign film，那麼請大家果斷的把Chinese換成Japanese。

然後，關於電影的名字，請大家千萬不要糾結到底如何把《京城81號》翻譯成英文，它不管叫啥，考官肯定都沒聽過，而且考官是不會糾結這個的，請大家放心。

再然後，關於電影類型，我們這裏來補充一下horror movie是恐怖片，thriller是驚悚片，suspense movie是懸疑片，還有大家熟悉的science fiction科幻和fantasy movie魔幻片。

最後，關於大家的觀影時間，如果以後考了什麼小時候看的電影啦，最近看的電影啦，請大家自行把9th grade替換即可。

下面的一步，就是扣題，如果是喜歡的電影，請用下面這句話扣題：

It’s about a female writer who moved to a big old house, which belongs to her great grandfather. And ever since she moved in, she has suffered from nightmares almost every night. And there’s weird sound sometimes, like the rolling of the glass balls, and someone whispering. And the most thrilling part was, all her dreams were true, it was something happened in the past. Her great grandmother committed suicide in this house because of a tragic accident.

簡要介紹情節之後，下面再次扣題，說一說爲啥喜歡這部電影：

The special effect was so real, and the sound effect was impressive as well.

My favorite actor _X stared in this movie, and her acting skill was unforgettable. The twisted face and the screaming mixed with the background music nearly scared me to death.

This movie really didn’t let me down.

當然，還有那種萬能表揚套話，就是無論說哪部電影，都能用上的那種：

I’ve seen the movie a million times and it never gets old.

The story is excellent, the casting, plot, acting, lines and all the other aspects of the movie are superb.

The movie deeply touched me and became the best movie I’ve ever seen.

如果不喜歡呢，就針對喜歡的點，反着說，例如“五毛錢特效，毫無演技”啥的：

The special effect was so fake, and the background music was not proper at all.

The actors in the movie had no acting skills. Maybe that’s because of the lame plot which didn’t make any sense. They were just running around and screaming to the screen, which was not scary at all.

This movie really let me down, and it ruined my impression of 3-dimensional movies.

好了，現在再看看廣告怎麼編。開頭我們需要變一下：

I’d like to talk about a TV commercial which is like a micro movie. I didn’t get what the product was until the end of it.

因爲是通過電影素材套過來的，那麼就得寫微電影式的廣告了嘛對吧。

Okay! I would like to say something about a new movie, the Wonder Woman. It stars Gal Gadot, a former member of the Israeli special force. I gotta say, she is the perfect Wonder Woman material. The background of the movie is set during the First World War when the fallen God Ares allured mankind into wars. 雅思口語素材: A movie you have recently watched

A movie you have recently watched 是最近常考的一個雅思口語題(Part2)，正好21st Century上有一篇文章介紹最近吳尊和A Sa主演的電影《劍蝶》(Butterfly Lovers)，發上來跟近期參加雅思考試的同學參考。Less Common Vocabulary我幫大家標出來了：

Butterfly Lovers is based on the legendary Chinese love story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. The roles are played by Wu Chun and Charlene Choi (A Sa) respectively.

Adding a twist to the movie, the story unfolds(這個詞用得太地道了!一般我們都會說the story begins......吧?) with them finding each other in a world of martial arts. Liang is ordered by his master to take care of Zhu, a girl from a wealthy family who disguises herself as a man to escape from danger.

They fall in love but Zhu's parents force her to marry another rich man. At the end Yingtai and Shanbo die and their spirits turn into a pair of beautiful butterflies, flying together among the flowers forever, never to be apart again.
