You would think that an elephant would be easy to see.

大家都知道一隻大象很容易就會被發現。

But that is not the case with this idiom. Elephant in the Room

但這可不是我們今天習語要講的意思。Elephant in the Room

I really don't want to go to the meeting today.

我真不想參加今天的會議。

Why? Just sit there, and nod your head like I do.

爲什麼？坐在那兒，像我一樣點頭就行了。

But nobody is willing to talk about The elephant in the room.

但是大家都不想談論這個避諱的話題。

What elephant?

跟大象有什麼關係？

The fact that our company has no money! Broke!

我們公司一窮二白的事啊！我們破產了！

Oh, that elephant in the room. Yeah, don't bring that up.

哦，原來說的是大家都不願提及的意思啊。對，別提這件事。

Nobody wants to talk about that.

沒人想談論這種事啊。

An elephant in the room is a problem that everyone knows about but does not want to talk about.

避而不談之事表示大家都知道卻刻意迴避的事情。

It also refers to a truth everyone knows but ignores.

它也指衆所周知但卻故意忽視的事實。

A problem shouldn't be ignored, and neither should an elephant in a room with you!

不能逃避問題。房間裏的大象同樣不能夠被無視！
