當被問到“我們生活中犯的最大的錯誤是什麼？”的時候

When asked "what's the biggest mistake we make in life?"

佛祖會回答

最大的錯誤就是誤以爲我們還有時間

The biggest mistake is you think you have time

時間是免費的但同時也是無價的

Time is free but it's priceless

你不能擁有它 但你可以使用它

You can't own it but you can use it

你不能保留它 但你可以花費它

You can't keep it but you can spend it

一旦從你的指尖流去 你就再也無法挽回它

And once it's lost you can never get it back

一般人可以擁有78年的時間

The average person lives 78 years

我們花在睡覺上的時間有28.3年

We spend twenty eight point three years of our lives sleeping

這幾乎佔據了我們生活三分之一的時間

That's almost a third of our life

但我們中還有30%的人很難睡個好覺

but thirty percent of us struggle to sleep well

我們花在工作上的時間有10.5年

We spend ten point five years of our life working

但我們中有超過50%的人想要離開自己現在的工作

but over 50% of us want to leave our current jobs

時間比金錢要珍貴得多

Time is more valuable than money

你可以賺更多的錢 當你無法得到更多的時間

You can get more money but you can never get more time

我們花在看電視和社交媒體上的時間有9年

We spent nine years on TV and social media

我們花在做家務的時間上有6年

We spend six years doing chores

我們花在飲食方面的時間有4年

We spend four years eating and drinking

We spent three and a half years in education

我們花在修飾自己的時間上有2.5年

We spent two and a half years grooming

We spent two and a half years shopping

The bad news is time flies,the good news is you're the pilot

想象一下你每天醒來的時候在你的銀行賬戶會有86,400美元

Imagine you wake up every day with 86,400 dollars in your bank account

到了晚上結束的時候 不管你是否花費了它 這個錢都會消失

and at the end of the night it's all gone whether you spent it or not

而到了第二天你又會有新的一筆86,400美元

And then the next day you get another 86,400 dollars

我們會怎麼做呢？

What would we do with it?

每天都會有86,400秒被存入你的生活賬戶中

Every day 86,400 seconds are deposited into your life account

在一天結束的時候它們都被用完而你又得到一個新的86,400秒

At the end of the day once they're all used up you get an new 86,400 seconds

如果它是錢的話我們絕對不會浪費它

We would never waste it if it was money

那爲什麼當它是時間的時候我們就要浪費它呢？

so why do we waste it when it comes to time?

這些時刻遠遠比金錢更有分量

Those seconds are so much more powerful than dollars

因爲你總是能賺到更多的錢

because you can always make more dollars

當你不能創造更多的時間

you can't always make more time

We think that it's people wasting our time

Some of us don't recognize how important someone is to us until they're gone

Inside all of us are two voices

一個聲音在說 我想要提升自己

One voice that wants to uplift

我想要充實自己

One voice that wants us to expand

One voice that wants us to grow

而另一個聲音卻在說

and then there's the other voice

我想要退縮

The voice that holds us back

我想要偷懶

The voice that makes us lazy

我已經對自己很滿意了

The voice that makes us complacent

這是個想要限制我們潛能的聲音

The voice that restricts us from our potential

每一天 從我們醒來的那一刻到我們晚上入睡的那一刻

Every day from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to sleep

在我們的內心一直有這兩種聲音在做鬥爭

inside of us there's this battle between the two voices

猜一下哪個聲音贏了？

And guess which one wins?

我們聽從的最多的那個聲音

The one that we listen to the most

The one that we feed

It is our choice of how we use our time

Life and time are the best two teachers

and time teaches us the value of life

And as William Shakespeare said

Time is very slow for those who want

對於那些害怕它的人來說 時間是很快的

very fast for those who are scared

but for those who love
