財富一直是有些人所渴望的對象。確實，大多數人努力通過誠實的勞動來獲取財富。他

的努力對造福社會有好處，同時也促進了他們財富的積累，因此也使他們更幸福。

毫無疑問，尤其是在現代社會裏，財富帶來幸福。各種現代化的家用電器、時裝和娛樂層出不穹、日新月異。這一切使我們的生活更爲舒適、豐富多彩。因此，沒有金錢，我們就無法把羨慕變成現實。

但是當財富脫離了幸福，就會產生各種例外。財富可以促使意志薄弱者養成惡習，如吸毒或賭博，並導致他們自身的毀滅。此外，如果一個人一心追求財富並沉溺於奢侈的生活，他就會失去理智、誤入岐途。例如，甚至還有一些政府官員利用他們的職位向求助者索賄。所有這些都會產生財富的負面效應，如果我們不能正確對待財富的話。

依我看，無論如何我們也不能把財富和幸福等同起來。我還認爲人們永遠也不應該只依仗財富去獲得幸福。

Wealth has always been what some people long for. It is true that most of them try to acquire wealth by means of honest labour. Their efforts contribute to the welfare of the society and at the same time to the accumulation of their wealth, and hence to their happiness.

There is no doubt that wealth brings happiness, especially in the modern society. Various kinds of up-to-date household appliances, latest fashions and recreations make their appearance with each passing day. All this makes our life more comfortable and colourful. Therefore, without money we cannot turn admiration into reality.

But there are exceptions when wealth does not go hand in hand with happiness. Wealth may tempt weak-willed persons to be addicted to harmful habits, such as drug-taking and gambling, and result in their own ruin. Besides, a person may lose his even some government officials who take advantage of their positions to take bribes from the people turning to them for help. All these will bring about the negative effect of wealth if we don’t take a proper attitude to it.

In my opinion, on no account can we identify wealth with happiness. I also believe that one should never reckon only on wealth to achieve happiness .

A man who said he bought a device that let him change traffic lights from red to green has received a $50 ticket on suspicion of interfering with a traffic signal.

Niccum was cited after city traffic engineers who noticed repeated traffic-light disruptions on certain intersections spotted a white Ford pickup passing by whenever the light patterns were disrupted.

On the Relationship between Environment and Economy

The two pictures above are both about the relationship between the environment and the economic development. In the first picture, GDP is on the rise while the environment is drastically polluted. In the second picture, economic efficiency progresses with environmental protection. It’s easy to get the conclusion that development according to the second picture is more reasonable than that in the first one.

In the early development of socialism, our country didn’t pay much attention to the issue of environmental protection and savored the bitterness. Now, the government has taken many measures and is implementing the strategy of “sustainable development”. One aspect of the strategy is to develop the economy and take measures to protect the environment at the same time. In this way, we can develop our country in a sustainable manner and our offspring can have enough resources to develop society. If we don’t put much emphasis on the environment issue and excavate the natural resources blindly, our country will become a barren land sooner or later.

In a word, sustainable development is a reasonable strategy which should be implemented for a long time. The nature is providing us with plentiful resources generously, but it may punish us severely if we don’t care her.
