長頸鹿的性格實在有些古怪。它有時很高傲，我拿着一根長滿綠葉的樹枝餵它，可它卻不理不睬，偏要吃高過自己頭頂的樹葉，而且細嚼慢嚥，嘴巴一張一合時;嘴皮掀起來會露出那大大的黃玉牙。它有時又很頑皮，觀看它的遊人絡繹不絕，男女老少多得數不清。長頸鹿看到遊人，有時會彎下它那長長的脖子舔一下某人的臉，或者對着人呼吸。瞧他主動與人親近的樣子，我又覺得它很平和。
