西南財經大學口語課上學生竟教外教打麻將!

An oral English class at a university in Sichuan province recently stumbled upon a way to improve communication skills: the students, from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) taught their foreign teacher how to play mahjong.

日前，在四川省一所大學的英語口語課上，出現了一種罕見的提高溝通技巧的授課方法：即西南財經的同學們教他們的外教老師打麻將。

The unusual classroom activity was first publicized on the microblog of a SWUFE student surnamed Huang.

這種獨特的授課方式最先是被西南財經大學一位姓黃的同學發佈到微博上去的。

In the picture he uploaded, a foreign lady is looking at the mahjong tile in her hand beside a makeshift table of three desks. Next to her is a Chinese girl, advising the woman on her next move.

從微博的配圖中我們可以看到，在一張由三張課桌拼成的桌子上，一位外國女性正在旁邊一位中國女學生的指導下，認真地看着手上的牌。

According to Huang, the mahjong game happened as part of an oral English class for freshmen.

根據這位姓黃的同學表示，打麻將是大一同學上口語課時發生的事。

The foreigner is a teacher named Mary, who is originally from Kenya. Huang said that mary asked the students to bring a board game to class in order to improve their English communication ability. Mahjong proved to be the most popular.

照片上的老師是來自肯尼亞的外教瑪麗。姓黃的同學表示，瑪麗老師本來是讓同學們將任意一種桌遊帶進課堂，目的是爲了增加大家英語口語溝通能力。結果證明，麻將還是最受歡迎的桌遊。

Huang thought it was an interesting class. Though some people questioned the foreign teacher's professionalism, Huang held that her unusual method stimulates students' desire for studying and actually did improve their communication skills.

黃同學認爲這節課非常有趣。雖然有些人因此質疑這位外教的職業精神，但黃同學認爲，正是她這種別開生面的教學方式激發了同學們學習的熱情，並且也確實提高了同學們的英語溝通能力。
