A Smile—a Magic Spell of Happiness

Don’t you think it’s important?

Can you imagine a world without smiles? Can you bear seeing sad faces here and there? What a dark world it would be without smiles!

Some people want to be "Harry Potter" to learn the magic spell of happiness. Every one of us knows exactly what the spell actually is and the spell is very simple and just at hand. What is it? It’s a smile!

A smile is a very magical spell. It is a kind of eMotional contact. It makes strangers become friends. It helps parents and children to understand each other better.

A smile is a really magical spell. It’s also a kind of encouragement. It makes people feel warm in ice and snow. It gives thirsty people the power to walk on in a desert. It makes cowards become brave and it makes people see hope in desperate situations.

So please remember, "smile and make your life brighter", and smile for life. Every time you smile you give yourself the perfect chance to enjoy life. Every time you smile, you bring brilliant sunshine to the whole world around you, as well as to yourself.

Nike tells us, "Just do it!" So I will say, "Just smile it!"

We need dreams

We all want to believe that we are capable of great feats, of reaching our fullest potential. We need dreams. They give us a vision of a better future. They nourish our spirit。

They represent possibility even then we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers Dreamers are not content with being merely mediocre, because no one ever dreams of going halfway.

When we were little kids, we didn’t dream of a life of struggle and frustration. We dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. We dreamed big.

We know now that we have to put in the effort to reach our dreams, but the tough part is that most of us don’t know where to start working. We might have every intention of becoming Vice President in five years or running across the finish line in a marathon or completing the novel we started years ago. But often we have no idea how to translate these dreams into actions.

In order to make real steps toward fulfilling our ultimate, big, splashy dreams, we have to start with concrete objective. These are our goals.

Being yourself

In every school there is a “top” crowd that sets the pace, while the others follow their lead. Let's say the top crowed decides that it is smart to wear bright red sweaters. Pretty soon everybody is wearing a bright red sweater.

There is something wrong with that, except the fact that on some people bright red sweater is extremely unbecoming. The situation can even become dangerous, if the top crowd decides that it is smart to drink or to drive cars at seventy miles an hour. Then the people who follow the lead were endangering their lives. They are like the sheep being led to the butcher.

Now, changes are that you have come across situations like these more than once in your life; changes are that one time or another you probably did something you knew to be wrong. You may have excused yourself by saying, “Gee, the crowd does it.” Well, let the crowd do it, but don't do it yourself. Learn to say, “No!”

Develop your own standards and your own judgement. If you know the crowd is planning something you disagree to, have the courage to bow out mannerly, you'll have the satisfaction of standing on your own two feet.
