good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

my name is , i’m a lovely girl. i’m from zhangcun primary school. today,it’ s my great honor to be here. the title of my speech is “to be a goodtraveler”.

i love traveling very much. i’m so exciting to visit different places. it’sa good way to make new friends. Moreover, it’s like reading a book.

yes, i love traveling. but i hate to see that environment has changed worseand worse. many unknown places are built into resorts, trees are cut down,rivers and lakes are polluted.

but to our delight, our government has become more and more concerned withthe protection of the environment.

the government has been doing a great job. and what about us? what shouldwe do? it’s just one step to take, for you, for me, for everyone. if everytourist uses less plastic bags, how much white pollution would disappear; ifeveryone tries to reach one place of interest on foot, how much clearer the skywould be; and if no guest asks the hotel to change towels every day, how muchless detergent would be drained.

it is not difficult, right? it’s just as simple as the famous slogan,“please take away nothing but your smile, and leave behind nothing but yourfootprint.” i believe that we all love our earth. so, now let’s turn our passionin to action. if not us, who? if not now, when?

What is nature? It's everything that exists in the world independently ofpeople， such as pants and animals， earth and rocks， and the weather.

Now more and more people are focusing on the nature. It is no doubt thatthe nature is important to every human being. No nature， no life. Because of thesupplies of the nature， we have lived happily for a long time. And we started togain every thing available from the nature. And this lasted so long a y， people have discovered that the nature around is getting worse andworse.

What is threatening the nature? Air and water pollution， overharvesting ofplant and animal species， overpopulation and so on. Overpopulation is thebiggest source of pollution. Let's take overpopulation as an example.

What does overpopulation feel like? When we move slowly through the city ina tazi. When we enter a crowded slum district. When the temperature is high andwhen the air is thick with dust and smoke. The streets are crowded with streets seem alive with people. People eating. People washing. Peopletalking. People sleeping. People visiting each other， arguing and le relieving themselves. People pushing their hands through the taxiwindows， begging. People leading animals. People， people， people， people. As wedrive slowly through the crowd， sounding the taxi's horn， the dust， heat， noiseand cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! I admit， frightening.

To the nature， overpopulation is a big problem. More people， morepollution. And the big population is threatening the nature every second.

The rapid rise in world population is not creating problems only for thedeveloping countries. The whole world faces the problem that raw materials arebeing used up at an increasing rate and food production can not keep up with thepopulation increase. People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on theworld's resources， its food， fuel and land， and cause the most pollution. A babyborn in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the world'sresources than a baby born in India. Unless all the countries of the world takeunited action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and morepeople fighting for a share of less and less land， food and fuel， and the futurewill bring poverty， misery and war to us all.

For most of the developing countries， it is a good idea to control thepopulation growth. For example， China has carried out birth control for this plan has a great effect on the world population.

If the population continues to increase， if the air and water continue tobe polluted， if we don't do something to protect wild-plant and wildlife specieswill be declining. Species and biological communities have difficulty adaptingto change. Economic opportunities and the quality of life of future generationsare also put at risk. By protecting nature， we protect ourselves.

Let's unite together， hand in hand we stand all across the land.

We can make this world in which to live. Hand in hand. Control thepopulation growth. Take good care of our nature.

We have only one earth. But now,the environment becomes worse andworse.

As you know,there's no enough clean water for people. So many of them losetheir lives because of water. In a lot of

countries, people have to cut trees for living. So there's nothing to keepwater from running away. Also we have polluted the

land, the river and the air. So we have to face more and more floods anddroughts .

It's time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. Wecan plant trees and take good care of them. We can

save the water and ask our parents to do so. We can't throw any litter ontothe ground and we should collect them for recycling.

If we take good care of our earth today,it will be more beautifultomorrow.

It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggestconcern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of waterloss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers andlakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably noexaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environmentthreatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the pricewe have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argumentis valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people’s lives areadversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can beachieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. Thekey to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world abetter place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for futuregenerations.

Nowadays, the environmental protection is becoming one of the mostimportant issues in the world. Being one of the members of our society, whatshall we do to protect the environment?

First, stop using plastic bags, boxes and bottles. Stores should berequired to use the bags, boxes and bottles which are made from paper.

Secondly, more and more trees and flowers should be planted to keep oursurrounding clean. People must be required to plant plants around their housesand work places.

Finally, we must control the pollution by law, according to which, pollutedwater and air exhausted from factories should be forbidden.

These are some of the measures that we can take to protect our environmentand they are not hard tasks for us. Remember, the earth is the only planet wecould live at present.

Since the first day, BNBM has paid more attention to protect theenvironment as its social responsibility, by developing green buildingmaterials, producing green products and creating green enterprise. According tothe spirit of "From the nature, for the nature and return to the mature", BNBMhas tried its best in developing new technology and improving equipment toreduce the pollution.
