A school bus is one that is used to take children to and from school.

In the USA, about 450,000 school buses take more than 25 million children to and from school. The yellow school bus is a US icon (象徵). Yellow became the color of school buses in the USA in 1939. Dr. Frank got the good idea. He said it was easy for people to see yellow buses and the black letters on them in early morning or late afternoon. That would make children safer.

For many people, the Zhijiang Dong autonomous county(自治縣), Huaihua city, in Central China’s Hunan province is famous for its role in China’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression(1937-45) and World War II.

Located in the west of Hunan, the county is close to the border with Guizhou province,

and is a well-known transportation hub(中心;中樞). It also acted as important military base(軍事基地) in the fight against the Japanese.

Zhijiang was the home of the American Volunteer Group, or “Flying Tigers”: the

legendary squadron(空軍中隊) of pilots from the United States that helped the Chinese forces fight the occupiers(侵略者), and made an impressive contribution to the ultimate(最終的) victory.
