雅思口語之描述工作

在雅思口語的題目中，同學們經常被考官問道：“Are you a student or do you work?” 爲什麼這道題的頻率如此高呢?那是因爲考官想借此將考生們準確地分類。如果回答是學生，則考官後續會問一些學習方面的問題;如果回答是工作，則考官會問一些工作類的話題。但是並不是說對於學生，就不能問工作類的問題了。同學們要對於工作相關的話題有所準備，這樣才能在被問到相關話題時，可以更好的應對。

(1)What the job is.

首句可以點明自己未來想做的理想的工作：When I first read this topic, an ideal job that came to my mind is to become a/an... in the future. 不管同學們未來是想成爲一個doctor，designer，還是一個farmer，同學們在描述未來想從事的職業時，一定要確保是自己內心真正的想法，這樣才能使考官信服。

此外，在描述是什麼工作的同時，可以加上一些具體信息，如公司名稱或者工作地點。可以說“在一個世界五百強公司in a top 500 company”, 或者說“在一個一線城市in a first-tier city”等。

(2)How you can find this job.

當今社會，一般找工作的方式有哪些?同學們不難想到網上求職try to find it on online; 或者是在招聘會上找到工作in a career fair; 也可以通過人際關係得到一些推薦get a job recommendation from my teacher/parents/friend; 此外，可以利用手機上的一些求職軟件use job hunting apps; 關注一些知名公司的社交平臺如微博或微信，瞭解一些招聘信息subscribe different types of channels, such as Weibo and WeChat of famous... companies, following their hiring news; 最後，在得到這份工作之前，也可以嘗試先得到一個實習的機會get an internship。

談到這個工作所要求的資質和技能。首先，一般的工作會要求求職者有一個相關的學位a diploma in...(或 get a bachelor degree 本科學位/ master's degree 碩士/ doctorate 博士學位);取得一個相關的商業資格achieve relevant business qualifications 也是重要的。

有些職業可能對外在有一定的要求, 需要有漂亮的外在和良好的舉止smart appearance and good manner; 有些職業要求有良好的品味have a good taste;有些職業需要了解用戶的期待understand expectations from various types of users; 有些職業需要對於工作的時間有靈活的(任意分配的)態度have a flexible attitude to working hours。

這份工作爲什麼是理想的工作?對於這個問題，我們不能簡單地說“錢多事少離家近”，我們要注意自己的“立意”，即我們說話時要傳遞的思想內涵，如果你的立意比較積極向上且有獨到見解的，就可以使自己的得分更高。

我們可以從內因和外因兩個方面來談。內因是指自己做了這份工作後，自己獲得的好的內心感受，可能是這份工作會讓我實現自己的夢想或目標realize my dream/ goal; 當我克服困難時可以得到一種自我滿足感和成就感have the sense of self-satisfaction and achievement every time I overcome difficulties ; 或者是當我和別人合作時我感覺非常滿足feel satisfied to collaborate with people on a project; 還可能是因爲我喜歡不斷地面臨挑戰I’m fond of facing challenge constantly; 在談論時，我們可以使用讓步狀語從句：Although it could be demanding and challenging, the long-term career growth could surely enable me to do...

外因是指這份工作具有什麼好的條件，從而使我想要獲得。也許這份工作可以提供豐富的年終獎offer generous year-end bonus;這份工作可以讓我帶薪休假，享受好的福利have paid holidays and attractive welfare;或者說這份工作可以讓我和來自於不同背景的人交流get in touch with different people from different backgrounds; 給了我在跨國公司旅行和工作的機會give me opportunities to travel, or to work in a multi-national company;

此外，在談論的時候，我們可以think outside the box, 即跳出自身的生活圈，將ideal上升爲一個普通的社會問題，在答案中反映出求職者們對工作的普遍期許，這樣會顯得答案有深度和代表性。比如在談論時，我們可以談論到現在人們的工作的節奏快have the fast pace of work，員工們每天必須do paperwork, meet tight deadlines, 很少有時間take a holiday，很容易feel fatigued 疲憊的/frustrated 受挫的/depressed抑鬱的, 甚至還會導致一些symptoms症狀/ stress-related illnesses，比如high blood pressure, stomachache, obesity等。因此，我的理想工作就是能讓自己可以有帶薪休假和好的福利have paid holidays and attractive welfare.

I would like to work as a senior secretary in the education ministry of the Government. This position requires a very talented person with experience who would be able to take necessary steps to take the education sector ahead. Mainly I want to work in this position to contribute to the education sector of the country. A comprehensive training on our education system and various aspects of the education ministry would be required. Apart from training some experience on education sector would be required as well.

This job does not pay a big salary but if someone wants to contribute for the advancement of the country, s/he would have plenty of opportunities to serve the nation by working in this position and improving the most important sector of the country.

I feel the necessity of putting the utmost importance in the education sector and I know how changing the policy and rules in education sector can contribute towards the betterment of the whole nation. When I was young, I wanted to work for a major aviation company as a pilot. In fact, becoming a pilot, who flies commercial aeroplanes, was my dream in my childhood.

I have heard about this job from my teachers and relatives in my childhood and then I had a superficial idea about this job. When I was 15 or 16 years old, I saw a documentary on the tasks the pilots do in Discovery channel that gave me a clear idea of the jobs of a commercial aeroplane pilot.

Working as a pilot requires a very comprehensive training and to become a good pilot one needs very good quality and skill sets. Usually, the commercial airline companies hire the candidates and then give them comprehensive training, both theoretical and practical, and after particular hours of flawless flying records, the candidates are sent to work for their jobs. The theoretical parts teach them the different aspects of flying, route, safety and process guidelines where the practical parts allow them to actually fly a real aeroplane. They need to prove that they have gained sufficient skills to fly a commercial plane before they are appointed to do the job.

I was a fascination on flying the aero plane in the sky. It was a thrilling job to me when I was a young. Since different people of the family members started giving me the idea of good careers and what I would become in the future, I started speculating my own idea and I found the job of a pilot very exciting and prestigious. I knew that being a pilot would allow me to visit different countries across our boundaries and would allow me to meet different people and these 2 ideas also attracted me toward this job. For all those reasons it was my dream job when I was young.

1、首先要學習和模仿英語交流的語音和語調兩部分，現有的教學體制可能會比較重視單詞的發音、音標的聯繫，但針對整個句子的語調練習會相對少一些，也就造成了很多時候我們的語調讓國外人聽起來怪怪的。這裏面不存在英音和美音的問題，不管是什麼發音，語句的語調應該是和諧的。所以，語調的聯繫也就成爲了關鍵。

2、怎樣練習語調呢?方法其實真的很簡單，就是通過大量的瞭解國外的原聲發音，最好是能夠找到一些涉及內容廣泛，表達主人公多種心理狀態的音頻文件，這樣你可以瞭解在各種環境和主人公心態下的原聲發音，然後根據自己的時間和精力，制定切實可行的學習計劃，逐步學習。

3、怎樣進行學習呢?方法就是進行跟讀訓練。不斷的聽這些原音，同時結合和理解整個故事情節。逐句逐字聽，逐句逐字學，邊聽邊讀，儘量達到與原聲一致。

4、在練習過程中要注意：

(1)一定要盡力保證與原音的發音和語調相符;

(2)語速開始時可以根據自己的情況適度的進行，但最終必須要趕上原音的語速;

(3)學習要有階段性，節奏和頻率很關鍵，適合自己的纔是最好的;

堅持數月後，你會發現，你的語音和語調包括語速都開始接近國外的原音水平，這時可以選擇一些“新概念”三冊、四冊或其他的有文字配合錄音的素材進行練習，這時的聯繫主要是集中在按照文字內容所進行的朗讀，與原音進行對照。其實也是在更多的練習;

在這個階段堅持3個月左右後，你就可以大膽的與更多的人進行交流，這樣可以把你從練習轉爲實戰，相信你可以取得更大的突破。
