自菲律賓方面挑起黃巖島事端至今，已有整整30天。期間，菲方不斷擴大事態，不斷髮表錯誤言論，誤導公衆，嚴重損害雙邊關係，而對中方提出的外交解決的正確主張置若罔聞。據報道，菲律賓今日將舉行大規模反華遊行。

Beijing on Wednesday warned Manila not to "further harm bilateral relations" in response to Manila's repeated provocations, which have worsened the month-long Huangyan Island impasse.
菲方近一個月來不斷在黃巖島製造事端挑釁，使中菲黃巖島對峙僵局更趨緊張，對此中方於週三警告稱希望菲方“不要進一步損傷兩國關係”。
上面報道中，Huangyan Island impasse就是“黃巖島僵局”的英文表達，也可稱作Huangyan Island standoff。Impasse的英文解釋爲“a situation that is so difficult that no progress can be made”，即“僵局”，英文中表達同樣意思的詞語還有：deadlock，stalemate，dead end等。例如：The negotiation has reached a dead end.（談判陷入了僵局。）
“陷入僵局”可以說come to/reach an impasse，雙方僵持的狀態也可叫confrontation（對峙）。目前，菲律賓外交部resume diplomatic contact with the Chinese embassy in Manila（恢復了與中國駐菲使館的外交接觸），希望此次diplomatic negotiation（外交協商）有助於break the impasse（打破僵局）。
