美語情景對話 第1037期:Sun vs Snow 陽光VS下雪

Paul: So, we were talking about climates, Amy. Uhm, you know are there any sort of climates that you'd like to live in?

保羅：艾米，我們來談談氣候。你希望在哪種氣候條件下生活？

Aimee: I would like to live in Iceland or Scandinavia.

艾米：我想生活在冰島或斯堪的納維亞半島。

Paul: Interesting. Why would you like to live in that sort of climate?

保羅：有意思。你爲什麼想在那種氣候條件下生活？

Aimee: Uhm, The snow is just so beautiful and my image of those countries is that their infrastructure is sufficient enough to keep you warm when you're inside. You know? But I'd say it's just so beautiful. The snow is amazing. It quietens everything. I think it's glorious. I just really like it. I used to ski when I was younger. So I always ... I like skiing and I like the hills, and yeah, and the snow on hills is just beautiful for me. How about you?

艾米：雪景非常漂亮，我認爲這些國家的基礎設施足以保障室內的溫度，室內會很暖和。你知道嗎？我認爲那些地方的雪景真的太美了。那裏的雪景非常不可思議，可以讓一切都安靜下來。景色真的非常壯麗。我非常喜歡。我年輕的時候去那裏劃過雪。我喜歡滑雪，我也喜歡高山，我認爲山上的雪景非常漂亮。你呢？

Paul: Well I, I love snow too, but I don't like it when it gets so slushy and sloppy you know, and your feet are freezing. You know I think like, the ideal of snow is really appealing. I'm not sure about, you know, living in it. I prefer, I don't know maybe the climate of like Southern Italy, kind of Mediterranean, climate I think that would be really quite pleasant. You know? Not too hot, by the sea, although yeah, in the summer, it does gets hot. But I don't think it's the humidity like here in Japan.

保羅：我也喜歡雪，不過雪會變得泥濘，而且會凍腳，這點我並不喜歡。我認爲理想中的雪景非常吸引人。可是我不確定我是否能生活在那種氣候中。我更喜歡意大利南部的氣候，那相當於地中海氣候，我認爲這種氣候很宜人。你知道嗎？因爲臨海，所以不會太熱，不過夏天的時候會非常熱。不過並不像日本這樣潮溼。

Aimee: Right, I was just thinking about that. What kind of heat is it? Is it a dry heat?

艾米：好，我剛剛正在想這個。那裏是哪種熱？是燥熱嗎？

Paul: I think it is a drier heat. Yeah, yeah, whereas the heat we obviously we get here is unbearable at times, right?

保羅：我想是有一些燥熱。嗯，顯然這裏經常熱得讓我們無法忍受，不是嗎？

Aimee: Yeah, it's really bad. Yeah.

艾米：對，太糟糕了。沒錯。

Paul: So, uhm...

保羅：嗯……

Aimee: What's the highest temperature? What's the range of temperature in Southern Italy , what kind of climate, do you know?

艾米：那裏最高溫度是多少？意大利南部的溫度範圍是多少，你瞭解嗎？

Paul: Not sure, I guess maybe at this time of year it starts getting up towards 20 degrees C.

Aimee: That's nice.

艾米：不錯。

Paul: And then I think it does you know places like Sicily, I think it does get pretty hot, probably like high 30s? Yeah, yeah, so and I think the winters are probably quite mild, unless you're from the North of Italy of course, near the mountains.

保羅：像西西里這樣的地方可能會非常熱，溫度大概有30度吧？我認爲那裏的冬天相當溫暖，除非去意大利北部的山區。

Aimee: Yeah.

艾米：好。

Paul: Down in the south it remains kind of pretty mild, you know?

Aimee: Aha, if it's in the Med ... It's my images of that. I've never been to Italy so I don't know. I've been to the South of France and not got really hot. That was a nice temperature. It was dry, and yeah the nighttime wasn't too hot either, it was really nice during the day. That was a nice climate, I think.

艾米：嗯，如果是地中海地區，那和我想象中的差不多。我從來沒去過意大利，所以我不清楚。我去過法國南部，那裏不會很熱。溫度非常適中。空氣很乾燥，晚上也不會太熱，白天真的很舒適。我認爲那裏的氣候很不錯。
