初級:140;

中級:160;

高級:180;

初級:170;

中級:190;

高級:210;

CEFR level160–170 Pass with Distinction B2 153–159 Pass with Merit B1 140–152 Pass B1 120–139 Level A2 A2

CEFR Level180–190 Grade A C1 173–179 Grade B B2 160–172 Grade C B2 140–159 Level B1 B1

CEFR Level200–210 Grade A C2 193–199 Grade B C1 180–192 Grade C C1 160–179 Level B2 B

以中級爲例,此前,劍橋考試中心全系列考試都把CEFR(歐洲共同參考框架,業內簡稱"歐標")作爲測試結果標準。

Who Benefits Most from Company Training?

According to recent research, the better educated and the higher up the socio?economic scale you are, the more likely you are to be offered workplace training. And, incidentally, the more likely you are to then turn (19) the offer, pleading family and personal commitments or (20) of work. Less qualified staff, on the other hand, are offered fewer training opportunities, but are more eager to (21) them up. In fact, people with few or no educational qualifications are three times more likely to accept training when it is offered.

In the majority of companies, more (22) are allocated to management training than to other areas. Employers (23) their better qualified staff as more important to the business, so they pay them accordingly and invest more in them in (24) of training. This is (25) by the fact that organisations are dependent on properly (26) managers making the right decisions. But this (27) may mean that companies are (28) other parts of the workforce down.

The researchers found a growing demand for training among the rtunately this demand is not being (29) by employers, even though there are strong indications that companies would benefit from doing so. They also discovered that, despite the substantial (30) between the training provided for managers and that offered to other staff, there was still widespread endorsement of training.

For the purposes of the research, training was defined as any (31) of planned instruction or tuition provided by an employer with the aim of helping employees do their work better. It therefore included a wide variety of approaches. On-the-job and classroom training (32)to be used equally by employers. But learning on the job, which involved observing a certain procedure and then practising it, was easily the most popular method for all categories of employee. While many felt that learning from colleagues was best,very few (33) the internet as an effective way to train.

And, incidentally,這裏最好能理解下incidentally的意思:used to introduce a new topic, or some extra information, or a question that you have just thought of (引出新話題、附加信息、或臨時想到的問題)順便提一句。 19題選turn down拒絕,21題與turn down對應,選take up接收。

24題,in terms of固定短語,就….

商務英語中常見的一個常見說法是keep informed(It is a good way to keep staff informed),所以看到這個詞應該就很敏感。

27題,emphasis強調(Emphasis is special or extra importance that is given to an activity or to a part or aspect of something.),指培訓的側重點在經理們的身上。

Entertaining Clients

Dialogue 1

A: Mr. Bryant? Hi, I’m Mike from Florence Incorporated. I’ll glad you made it okay. How was your flight?

B: It was pretty bumpy, also a bit long, all together about 5 hours.

A: That is a long flight. You had a layover too, is that right? You must be tired.

B: Actually I feel quite rested. I was able to sleep on the plane.

A: Good! Here, let me help you with your bag. Is it your first time to Seattle? I’d be happy to take you around this city and show you the sights tonight if you’re up to it.

B: That will be very nice. You're too kind.

A: I’ve already made a hotel reservation for you, let's go to the hotel first and drop off your things. Then, I’d like to have a drink so that we can get better acquainted. I’ve booked a table at an exclusive restaurant downtown. Afterwards, I’ve made arrangements to take you to see the city light. Seattle’s nightlife can be really quite exciting. How does that schedule sound to you?

B: Sounds great. Thank you for your hospitality.

Dialogue 2

A: Tom Jones from Lockwood will be coming in this afternoon. You’ll be going along with the driver to pick him up at the airport when his plane comes in from Prague. Remember, he is one of our most important clients. I want you to give him the red-carpet treatment.

B: Do you want me to drop him off at the hotel, or do I have to keep him amused this evening as well?

A: What do you think? I want you to treat him like a king. Take him to one of the fancy restaurants downtown. Afterwards, you can follow up with a show.

B: How much is my entertainment budget then?

A: Just not exceed $800 tonight.

B: Don’t worry. I’ll give him the VIP treatment. Jeeze, I really don’t enjoy myself when I’m entertaining clients.

A: Well, it’s your job, isn’t it? Try to have a more positive attitude, it’s not as bad as you make it out to be. Hey, while you’re at it, why don’t you invite him to play golf this Saturday as well?

B: No problem. Anything to keep management happy.
