演講不管在我們普通老百姓的日常生活中還是世界各國總統的競選中，都是普遍存在的，我們先來了解一下什麼是演講，演講又叫講演或演說，是指在公衆場所，以有聲語言爲主要手段，以體態語言爲輔助手段，針對某個具體問題，鮮明、完整地發表自己的見解和主張，闡明事理或抒發情感，進行宣傳鼓動的一種語言交際活動。那麼，演講稿的好壞直接決定了演講的成功與失敗。演講稿像議論文一樣論點鮮明、邏輯性強，但它又不是一般的議論文。它是一種帶有宣傳性和鼓動性的應用文體，經常使用各種修辭手法和藝術手法，具有較強的感染力。演講未必都使用演講稿，不少著名的演講都是即興之作，由別人經過記錄流傳開來的。但重要的演講最好還是事先準備好演講稿，因爲演講稿至少有兩個方面的作用：其一，通過對思路的精心梳理，對材料的精心組織，使演講內容更加深刻和富有條理。其二，可幫助演講者消除臨場緊張、恐懼的心理，增強演講者的自信心。
